Drexciya: Journey Of the Deep Sea Dweller 1 & 2 (Clone) Actually sack off everything I recently wrote about the reissued albums and just get these two compilations that reconfigure the entire Drexciyan script. Elegantly presented and thankfully bereft of Abdul Hauqq's slightly crappy literal artwork.

Just gonna quickly run through the bestest moments….

Cheesy vocal intro aside, 'Bubble Metropolis' has a rhythm so hard, its bass will kick your mother in the face. 'Take your mind' is the original blueprint for reductionist cold-wave austerity….everything else is a lame copy. 'Aquazordia' strays into soundtrack territory, menacing chords envelope the lino-chewing electro. 'Bang Bang' is pure bouncy techno joy and 'Neon Falls' brings us to surface with an elegiac mantra that Kraftwerk would be proud of.

The only kicker? My favourite Drexciya track of all time, 'Black Sea', is nowhere to be seen. Buy or die.
