The War On Error

Michael Dehnert: Framework LP (Delsin) Dutch-based dance label Delsin totally owning it with its recent run of superb long players (Conforce, Morphosis, Delta Funktionen, Redshape). Just add this to the list, yeah? Unshowy, perfunctory, workmanlike techno. Absolutely has no intention of being exploratory or experimental. And as a result is actually one of the more straight up dancefloor-minded albums I've heard in recent years. Best example is the looped Basic Channelism of 'Inversion' (which weirdly enough isn't on the vinyl version).

Delta Funktionen: Traces LP (Delsin) Impressive genre hopping activity between the territories marked 'electro' and 'techno'. Delta Funktionen (aka Holland's Niels Luinenburg) has crafted an album filled with kaleidoscopic melodies, morphing basslines and beats that sound urgent and direct. Which make for a euphoric, intoxicating narrative ideal for those that like their dance uptempo and frisky. Reminiscent of Marco Passarani when he's at he's most poppiest. This has enough surges, nuances and build-ups to last until next summer. The parting track 'On A Distant Journey' is a masterclass in cruise-control electro, doused in Kraftwerk juice.
