Sandoz: In Dub Chapter 2 - Live In The Earth (Soul Jazz) - CD originally released May 2006

The thing I like most about Richard H.Kirk long-running dub side project is that every album seems to be new tracks using the same set of sounds from previous works. There’s a comforting feeling to that. The palette is very synthetic sounding; clinical samples and a pretty rigid structure. It might not contain the raw analogue harshness of Kingston-derived dub but is no less valid. As with all of Kirk’s works, there’s a political / idealist subtext to it, but on such an abstract level that it doesn’t marr nor enhance the listening experience. Not as good as his classic ‘Digital Lifeforms’ album though.
