December 2009 Archives
Taken the best part of 6 months on and off to develop and write from scratch, but finally pleased to announce that our latest creation as FAIL. (the web design / development partnership that I run with Vijay) was released at the stroke of midnight on Christmas Eve: a brand new digital download store for Rephlex.
For those that don't know, Rephlex is co-run by Richard James AKA The Aphex Twin and Grant Wilson-Claridge. Originally from Cornwall, they re-located to North London for a while before returning to the coast. Recently activity seemed to be sparse, but all that's changed with the launch of this site (albeit in Beta form) and a clutch of new releases. I particularly like the drumfunk biznizz of Macc & dgoHn, the elegant electronica of Aleksi Perala and of course all those tasty unreleased Analord tracks from AFX.
It looks retro, but has some smart tech underneath and we're gearing ourselves up for more changes over the coming months. I'll take this opportunity to thank my friend and business compadre Vijay, Marcus Scott (doing fine work for other electronic labels), Grant Wilson-Claridge (and Sapphire), Richard D.James, Jon Stethridge at Unique Media and loads of other fine folk for encouraging words and virtual pats on the back.
